Jack Stone has been painting for over 40 years. While he never set out to make a living from art, painting has always been central to how he moves through the world. It is a quiet and steady practice that reflects his way of seeing and being. Though he spent much of his life working across many trades, art remained a consistent presence; returning to it whenever time and space allowed.

His early work focused on the rural landscapes of North Carolina; barns, cows, fields, and quiet country scenes, capturing the beauty of overlooked and forgotten places. As his practice evolved, he began to feel confined by traditional motifs and turned to abstraction as a way to open up his process and reimagine his creative voice.
